A great headshot can do wonders for you. It can get you booked as an actor. It can build trust on your business website. It can show that you're a polished professional. It can get you noticed!

What to expect at your Headshot Session

When you arrive for your session, we'll lock down our goal for the shoot and map out a plan to achieve it, discussing clothing, hair styles, background colors and facial expressions. A great headshot captures confidence with approachability. I shoot all my headshots from the chest up. You'll jump right in and we'll start firing some shots off. Don't worry, I'll coach you all the way through it with a fun and chill directing style. We'll take a few breaks through the shoot to view the images on-screen and make any necessary adjustments. We'll go through each shot together and delete any we don't like. This way you don't leave with hundreds of unusable pictures to sort through later.

Each session time is different. Some people can get what they need in 15 minutes while others can take an hour. There's no rush. My goal is to get you a great shot that you love. After we finish, I'll upload the shots to a proofing gallery where you can pick your favorite. Then I'll give the image a retouch and email you the final high resolution JPG file. If you love more than one image from your session, you can purchase additional ones. Check out my digital packages on my pricing page. My retouching is light and natural looking. I focus on evening skin tones, color correcting, blemish removal, and natural looking teeth whitening.

As for wardrobe choices for your headshots, I recommend solid colors. Avoid busy textures or patterns. Don't wear anything that can draw attention away from your face. Big earrings and chunky necklaces can be distracting. Try to keep logos or text off of your clothing. If you're not sure what to wear, bring a few options and will go over them. I always suggest wearing colors that can complement your eyes and skin tone.

Please arrive hair and make-up ready. I do not provide a make-up artist but you are more than welcome to bring your own. Your hair should look like you, but on a great hair day. Keep it natural. Same for makeup. A headshot is a very close shot, so any fake eyelashes or clumpy mascara will read on camera.

For men, I don't recommend makeup. Retouching covers any issues that may arise skin-wise. Feel free to bring a shaver if you want a few different looks with your facial hair.

But what if I hate being photographed?

If you are camera shy, just remember it's so worth being mildly uncomfortable in front of the camera for a few minutes when the end result is a dynamite image that captures your unique personality and sets you apart from the others. It's a fun, positive experience. It's Not something to dread. Love your uniqueness. Embrace it. Own it.
